The longest and largest nerve in your body is your sciatic nerve. It begins in your lower back as five smaller nerves joining together and extends to the following areas: pelvis, thigh, knee, calf, ankle, foot and toes.
Sciatica Pain
When the sciatic nerve becomes inflamed, the pain becomes very intense and causes a condition called sciatica. The pain follows the path of your nerves - it can go down the back of your legs or thighs or radiate into your back. It can cause severe leg pain or back pain.
