Whiplash

Whiplash injuries can cause severe discomfort and pain.

What is whiplash?

Whiplash is when your spine, usually your head and neck, are thrown very quickly and unexpectedly in one direction and then rebounds to the opposite direction (usually by accident or trauma). When this happens, an extreme example of vertebral subluxation occurs.

Whiplash Symptoms

You may experience one or all of these symptoms:

  • neck stiffness or soreness
  • headache
  • pain and/or numbness develops
  • tingling between shoulder blades, arm, hand, and/or fingers develops
  • dizziness
  • concussion
  • (it is also possible to have ringing ears, hearing loss, light sensitivity, blurred vision, eye pain, nasal problems or low back pain, depending on the affected nerves.)

Chiropractic Care of Whiplash

It is essential that the victim get checked by a chiropractor for vertebral subluxations. See a chiropractor no matter how long ago the injury occurred. The chiropractor can then give a chiropractic spinal adjustment to realign the spinal column safely and smoothly.
