What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

What is a Spinal Adjustment?

A spinal adjustment is when a chiropractor uses a special technique to eliminate or reduce vertebral subluxations in your spine.  When you visit a chiropractor for the first time, you can receive an analysis of your spine that will help determine how many subluxations are in your spine and how they can be treated.

During a Spinal Analysis, What Does a Chiropractor Take Into Consideration?

  • Which direction are the vertebrae out of alignment?
  • Is the patient relaxed enough for a spinal adjustment?
  • What is the best technique to use?
  • Why is there stress and tension in this area of the body?
  • What is the minimal amount of force necessary to realign the spine?
  • What, if any, are contributing factors to the spinal subluxations?

Are All Spinal Adjustments the Same?

No two adjustments are ever the same. An experienced chiropractor knows that every patient has unique circumstances and makes necessary adjustments to the technique. But all chiropractors do have the same goal, which is the elimination or reduction of the subluxations in your spine to give your body the ability to heal itself as naturally as possible.
