Neck Pain!

What Causes Neck Pain?
There are several factors that contribute to neck pain, including supporting and balancing the weight of your head. Other factors that can strain your neck are: regular wear and tear, injuries, stress, tension, and poor posture. Because your neck is aligned in a natural curve at the top of your spine, damage to it can cause painful problems. Chiropractors are also specialized in caring for victims of whiplash.
Characteristics of an Unhealthy Neck
- Vertebrae that are misaligned
- The supportive neck muscles are stretched, torn, or tight
- Torn ligaments
- Pinched, irritated, or stretched nerves
- Bulged, ruptured, or worn down discs
What Next?
If you are experiencing neck pain, please contact your chiropractor for a physical exam and/or spinal analysis. A chiropractor may review your history, complete an exam, take x-rays, or give you a spinal adjustment - whichever he or she deems necessary in your circumstances. Based on the examination of findings, your chiropractor will recommend an individualized treatment plan to treat and reduce your neck pain. For more on what a chiropractor does, click here.
