What Causes Low Back Pain?

Your low back in one of the three natural curves of your spine. It is a vulnerable area that is constantly under the strain of supporting the rest of your body. If that area lacks strength due to poor posture, wear and tear, injuries, or body weight, it can cause a variety of low back problems.

How Does a Chiropractor Treat Low Back Pain?

Chiropractors undergo years of specialized training to learn how to restore your spine to health. They use special techniques, such as spinal adjustments, to relieve pressure and reposition the vertebrae. These adjustments help relieve pain and stiffness in your low back, in addition to improving mobility.

Special Tip on Lifting

When you lift big, heavy objects you should always bend your knees and keep your back straight. You should concentrate on lifting with your leg muscles as opposed to your back muscles. Remember not to twist to the side when you lift.

What Can I Do to Keep My Back in Shape?

Talk with your chiropractor about appropriate exercises for strengthening your back. Your chiropractor may also recommend other types of treatments such as: moist heat, traction, ice packs, or stretching and strengthening exercises.
